A: Yes. In March of 2022, TI discontinued selling perpetual licenses for all TI software.

A: Yes, but they do that by converting your perpetual license to a multi-year subscription license. For more information, see Are updates to the TI-SmartView software free?

A: TI has created the TI-84 Plus CE Online calculator for use on Chromebooks. See TI-84 Plus CE Online Calculator (TI-84OLC-SNGL1YR-ESW).

Note: The online calculator has most of the functionality found in the TI-SmartView computer software. However, the online calculator cannot collect sensor data, cannot be use with the TI-Innovator hub, and does not support Python programming.

A: The software for Single-User and Multi-User licenses is the same. The difference is in how they are sold and who sets up the accounts required to use the software.

Single-User

Typically bought by the end user.
Can purchase in quantities less than 5.
End user activates the account
Best value when you are buying 1 or 2 licenses.

Multi-User

Typically bought by IT (license admin).
Must purchase 5 or more licenses.
License administrator manages accounts
Best value when you need 3 or more licenses (even with 5 license minimum).
2- and 3-Year licenses available.
Accounts can be reassigned as needed.

A: Unfortunately we do not have access to, or knowledge of, activation codes for TI perpetual software. It will be necessary to contact Texas Instruments directly for that information at 1-800-TI CARES.

A: Data-collection devices that can be used with TI-SmartView software will depend on the version of the software you are running.

TI-SmartView v6.0 and newer and TI-SmartView v5.2 or newer

These do not require an adapter to work with TI-SmartView.
