This article refers to both the teal Go Direct® Sensor Cart (GDX-CART-G) and the chartreuse Go Direct® Sensor Cart (GDX-CART-Y).
In the spring of 2024 the Go Direct Sensor Cart chassis was revised to enable field repair for wheels that come off of the axle. If your cart has exposed axles (see photo), you can contact Technical Support (email physics@vernier.com, call 888-837-6437, or use the Chat feature on our website) and request a replacement axle (Vernier Dynamics System Axles and Wheels for Cart (WHEELS-VDS)). The video below shows the process for removing and replacing the axle. We do not recommend simply pressing the wheel back on, as the press-fitting will be loose.
When replacing the axle, take care that the washers are pushed to the outside edges of both sides of the axle.
For units that do not have the exposed axles (purchased prior to spring 2024) please contact Vernier Technical Support and we will arrange for the cart(s) to be brought into the office for repair.
