General Troubleshooting
- Verify you are running the updated version of the app.
- Graphical Analysis
Check the version number by pressing the “…” icon in the upper right corner, and choosing “About”. If a newer version is available, there is a link to update. - LabQuest App
Check the version number by tapping Home > System > System Information. (Requires LabQuest App version 2.8.3 or newer, see updates) - If you are trying to connect a spectrometer, make sure you are using Spectral Analysis. See Why can't my device find Go Direct Spectrometer when I try to connect via Bluetooth?
- Graphical Analysis
- If you manually paired the sensor with your device, unpair it. Graphical Analysis cannot find sensors that have been manually paired to your device. Choosing which sensor to connect is all done in the app, and not in the operating system.
- Reboot your device.
- Reboot the sensor. Press and hold the power button down for 30 seconds or more.
- The sensor could be connected to another device. Verify the sensor’s Bluetooth LED is flashing red. If it is not, turn the sensor off and then turn it back on.
- Your sensor may need to be charged. In most cases, a sensor will fully charge in about 2 hours.
- Verify compatibility
Will my device work with Go Direct Sensors via Bluetooth? - Check if updates are available to your device’s operating system.
- If you have already tried several things, it is best to unpair everything, reboot both the sensor and the computer, and re-connect following our platform-specific getting started instructions.
If your sensor continues to fail, try the following:
- Verify the sensor can connect to a different device.
- Try connecting to a computer or Chromebook via USB.
- Try connecting to a different device via Bluetooth.
Note: In the case where the bluetooth LED is solid red instead of blinking red, this indicates firmware corruption. Try disconnecting the battery and then re-installing the battery. If this does not solve the problem, contact Vernier technical support.
Platform-Specific Issues
