Normally, the original LabQuest turns on in less than 90 seconds and displays the Meter screen (the screen that has the File and Sensors menus). If your original LabQuest fails to start, follow the links below to diagnose the issue.
Screen is black – power-button LED is OFF
This is most likely a power or battery-related issue.

Screen is black – power-button LED is FLASHING or won’t stay on
This is most likely a power or battery-related issue.

Screen is black – power-button LED is ON
This is most likely caused by the system shutting down because of a very low battery.

Frozen on the logo screen
LabQuest software needs to be re-installed.

Shows white text on black screen, text may be looping
LabQuest software update failed and needs to be re-installed.

Frozen on the teal Vernier screen
The LabQuest needs to be reset.
