Currently, this is only possible in LabQuest App, Graphical Analysis, and Graphical Analysis Pro. It does not work on Logger Pro.
LabQuest App
- Connect the drop counter to your LabQuest. On the meter screen, tap on the mode button and select Time based from the drop down menu. Default settings are fine for now, but you may want to change them later. Tap OK.
- Tap on the red meter and select Calibrate. Tap on the Equation tab at the top of the screen. Under Drops/mL, type the value 1. Throughout the experiment it will say units of mL but you will know 1 drop = 1 mL. Tap OK.
- On the graph screen, Change the x-axis to Time and the y-axis to Volume. You may simply want to look at the Table screen for this type of data collection though since there is no live readout of time.
- On the Table screen, tap on the Time column header and change the displayed precision to 3 decimal places.
- Start data collection and, as a drop passes, the time will be recorded. Time starts counting when you press the collect button. Data collection will end after 180 seconds or you can stop data collection early using the Stop button.
Graphical Analysis and Graphical Analysis Pro
- Connect the drop counter to your platform and open Graphical Analysis. Click on the mode button and select Time based from the drop down menu. Change the duration to 180 seconds for now, but you may want to change them later. Tap Done.
- Tap on the Volume meter and select Calibrate. Tap on the Manual tab at the top of the screen. Under Drops/mL, type the value 1. Throughout the experiment it will say units of mL but you will know 1 drop = 1 mL. Tap Apply.
- On the graph, make sure the x-axis is set to Time and the y-axis is set to Volume. You may simply want to look at the Table screen for this type of data collection though since there is no live readout of time.
- On the Table, tap on the Time column header, select Column Options, and change the displayed precision to 3 decimal places.
- Start data collection and, as a drop passes, the time will be recorded. Time starts counting when you press the collect button. Data collection will end after 180 seconds or you can stop data collection early using the Stop button.
