Note: These instructions only apply to the Go Wireless products (discontinued in 2017.) These are separate from the newer Go Direct products.
If you have a classroom set of Go Wireless Devices it can be hard to tell one from another because they are all identical in appearance and the radios all have the same name. You can label the physical units themselves to keep track visibly, but to know which one is which in the device discovery dialog, you’ll also need to rename them in software.
Note: You cannot rename a Go Wireless Heart Rate or Go Wireless Exercise Heart Rate
Instructions for iOS devices
1) Launch the Graphical Analysis GW App
2) Tap on New Experiment
3) Tap on Wireless Devices to launch a list of available devices
4) Tap on the Go Wireless device you want to connect to
5) Tap the information button to the right of the device name, available when you are connected to the device
6) Tap the name field, type the desired name, then tap Done
7) Tap the Disconnect to disconnect the Go Wireless device and return to the list of available devices
8) Repeat Steps 4 – 7 for the other Go Wireless devices you are trying to rename
There is an iOS bug that sometimes prevents the new name from showing up on the list of discovered devices, even though the name was successfully changed. The best way to check would be to look at the device discovery list on a different tablet or phone (after they have all been updated). That second device will show the current names.
Go Wireless: When I try to rename the device, the new name isn't recorded.

Hints to make renaming easier
– It can be easier if limit the number of devices you have on while trying to do this. If you are only changing a few, turn them on one at a time.
– For Go Wireless Links – have them all on, then connect a sensor only to the one you want to update.
– For Go Wireless Temp or pH – force the temperature or pH to change to help identify the one you want to update.
– Once a device has been updated, turn that unit off.
