Vernier Flash Photolysis Spectrometer (VSP-FP)

The current Vernier Flash Photolysis Spectrometer started shipping in April 2021 (serial number 63 and above). The complete reference manual, free experiments, and free software are available online at www.vernier.com/vsp-fp
The original Vernier Flash Photolysis Spectrometer was discontinued in March 2021 (serial number 62 and below). If you need its reference manual, you can find it here. It requires a previous version of free software, available here. A 600 nm interference filter is included with the original Vernier Flash Photolysis Spectrometer. A filter housing is also included. These filters select the wavelength monitored by the photodiode. Additional filters can be purchased from any filter company. The size that fits the housing is 12.5 mm (OD), 9.0 mm (ID).

TROUBLESHOOTING
-Primary Test:
1. Ensure the Flash Photolysis Spectrometer Software is installed on your computer before using the Vernier Flash Photolysis Spectrometer.
2. Connect the spectrometer to a powered USB port on the computer or a powered USB hub.
3. Start the Flash Photolysis Spectrometer Software on your computer.
4. Select the appropriate filter for your experiment.
5. Insert the filter housing into its slot on the instrument. The voltage reading should drop.

-Minimum software version: Free download available at www.vernier.com/vsp-fp
You do NOT need to purchase full LabView for this VI to work.
The Vernier Flash Photolysis Spectrometer Software collects the signal waveform from the photodetector. Subsequent data processing, such as conversion of the acquired voltage waveform into temporal profile of ΔA and fitting the ΔA profile to an appropriate function in order to extract the rate, can be exported as an ASCII CSV into Logger Pro or other third party software.
