The currently shipping sliding carriage on the Centripetal Force Apparatus (CFA) has a mass of approximately 51.0 g. This is an injection molded part so there will be some variation from unit to unit.

There is an older version of the sliding carriage that lacks an aluminum spreader bar on the underside. Parts without the spreader bar have a mass of about 48.9 g.

The mass of the sliding carriage must be included in centripetal force calculations.

The mass of the bar is approximately 361.1 g.
