This information pertains to LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3.
The original LabQuest does not support this functionality.
There is a user preference in LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3 to deter student access to naming, network, and connections settings. This is not a true lockout. It simply removes the icons used to access these features. It is simple to set up as there are no passwords; however, anyone can change the settings back to default.
To make changes, access the network tab in the Advanced Preferences app.
LabQuest 2—Tap Home > Preferences > Advanced Preferences, then tap the Network tab.
LabQuest 3—Tap Advanced Preferences from the Setting screen, then tap the Network tab.
Tap on Connections app lockdown. Lockdown mode has three settings:
0 – Full access to all settings
1 – Access to network settings only
2 – No access to any settings
Tap the Edit Preference button, choose the level of lockdown preferred, then tap OK. If the Connections App was open when you changed the lockdown preference, you will need to close and reopen the Connections app before you will see the change.
To re-enable the icons, go back to Advanced Preferences and select the Full Access option.
Why are there no icons/gears on the LabQuest Connections App screen?
