The Diffraction Apparatus (DAK) includes a set of slits and a red laser. The slit dimensions and laser wavelengths are critical dimensions for comparing experimental results with theory.
The tolerance of slit widths and separations is 3-4 microns.
The laser wavelengths are:
red (included with the purchase of the Diffraction Apparatus (DAK)) | 635 ± 5 nm |
green (purchased separately: Green Diffraction Laser (GDL-DAK)) | |
before August 2024 | 532 ± 1 nm |
after August 2024 | 520 ± 10 nm |
Both the red and green lasers are class 2 laser products.
