This document details a method for transferring data collected with LabQuest App to a computer so the data can be opened in a spreadsheet app such as Excel, OpenOffice, Numbers, or Google Sheets.

Method 1 — Using an SD card (original LabQuest and LabQuest 2 only) or USB Flash Drive:
1. Insert an SD card or connect a USB Flash drive to your LabQuest.
2. In LabQuest App, choose Export from the File menu.
3. Select your media (SD card or Flash Drive), name the file, then tap OK.
4. Transfer the SD card or Flash Drive to your computer.
5. Open a spreadsheet program, and select to open a file.
6. Adjust the file filter to look for all files (*.*). (Note: The exported file is a .TXT file.)
7. Navigate to your saved file and choose Open.

Note: The exported .TXT file may not open directly in your spreadsheet program. If that is the case, open the file in a text editor (e.g. NotePad), then copy and paste the data into your spreadsheet.

Method 2 — Using LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3 to transfer the file using email.
1. Set up your LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3 to support sending emails. See, How do I set up LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3 to email data with labquest@vernier.com instead of my own email account?
2. In LabQuest App, choose Email â–¶ Text File… from the File menu.
3. Enter the email address of the desired recipient(s), then tap Send.
4. On the device that received the email, open the email and save the file in your desired location.
5. Open a spreadsheet program, and select to open a file.
6. Adjust the file filter to look for all files (*.*). (Note: The emailed file is a .TXT file.)
7. Navigate to your saved file and choose Open.

Note: The emailed .TXT file may not open directly in your spreadsheet program. If that is the case, open the file in a text editor (e.g. NotePad), then copy and paste the data into your spreadsheet.
