The following are the different versions of the Go Direct® Soil Moisture Sensor (GDX-SM) that we have sold. Only the most recent version, released in May 2025, supports Remote Data Logging. Because of hardware differences, sensors that do not support Remote Data Logging cannot be updated to add that support.

May 2025 – Current

  • Remote Data Logging is supported.

July 2024 – April 2025

  • This sensor does not support Remote Data Logging.
  • The label on the sensor was updated to reflect our name change to Vernier Science Education.

Note: The label is not the only indicator of hardware version for this sensor. The first three characters of the serial umber (e.g., 171 or 172) relate to the hardware (e.g., Bluetooth® radio) used in that sensor.
