We do not maintain a list of chemicals specifically damaging to the sensing unit. It is not designed to come into contact with liquids.
We assume that aqueous solutions will not be allowed to enter the sensor and that discretion would be used when measuring pressures produced by caustic gases. The sensing unit is specifically designed for non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids such as air, dry gas, and the like.
If you are testing with chemical vapors, the gas-sensing membrane for the GPS-BTA is only compatible with aqueous vapors. Its housing is made of ABS plastic and will be damaged with exposure to organic solvent vapors.
We highly recommend the Pressure Sensor 400 (PS400-BTA) for any applications measuring organic vapors. The PS400 is made of stainless steel and the transducer is compatible with a wide variety of organics, including vapors and liquids.
