To import data collected with Vernier data-collection technology into esri apps such as ArcGIS Online, it is necessary to prepare the data in the following way:
From Logger Pro
- Export the data as GIS Format by choosing GIS Format from the File menu of Logger Pro.
- Save the file on your computer desktop.
From LabQuest App
- Insert a USB flash drive into LabQuest.
- Export the data onto the USB flash drive by choosing Export from the File menu. This creates a text file.
- Move the USB flash drive to a computer and open the text file in a text editor.
- Delete the header information. This includes everything above the column headings. Save the file to your computer desktop.
Once prepared, to add Vernier data to ArcGIS Online:
- In a browser, navigate to www.arcgis.com and click on the Map button.
- Drag and drop the prepared Vernier file onto the map.
- The data points are now marked on the map. Click on the marker to display the data associated with that marker.
For other esri apps, it may be possible to add Vernier content once it has been prepared as described above.
