It is almost never necessary for someone using a Go!Temp to calibrate it. Each device is carefully calibrated as part of the manufacturing process, and they are very accurate and repeatable.
If you really want to calibrate, you can. There are two procedures than ca be used:
For a simple, one-point calibration:
Place the Go!Temp in a water bath of known temperature. Click on Experiment/Calibrate, then choose Calibrate Now. Note that One-point Calibration is checked. Just enter the correct, known temperature and choose Keep. The Go!Temp will now be calibrated. What you really are doing is moving the whole calibration curve slightly up or down.
If you want to save this calibration on the Go!Temp, choose Calibration Storage and then click the button labeled Set Sensor Calibration. This will bring up a dialog box showing where the new calibration will be stored. Page 2 is the default. This is the page that was previously used for the Kelvin calibration. Overwriting this calibration is not a problem.
For a more complex, two-point calibration:
This requires two water baths of known temperature and is much like calibrating other Vernier analog sensors, such as pH. To do this, uncheck the one-point calibration box. This is unnecessary in many cases.
If you want to put things back like they were when you got the Go!Temp:
Choose Experiment/Calibrate/Go!Temp, then choose the Calibration Storage tab and click on Restore Factory Defaults.
