Vernier Science Education is a diverse, talented team of hard-working individuals working together to build a more STEM-literate society.
Committed to STEM Literacy
We partner with teachers and communities to build a STEM-literate society where all students grow up to become citizens who can solve complex problems and contribute to their communities while driving innovation.
Making a Global Impact
Our work is helping to shape the future of science education worldwide—supporting educators in over 150 countries.
Driven by Purpose
We’ve taken steps to forever ensure our mission is the cornerstone of our organization, thanks to our Perpetual Purpose Trust Ownership.
Sharing a Philanthropic Spirit
Each year we donate over $400,000 in cash and resources to local and national schools and other non-profit organizations.
Engaged in Environmental Stewardship
We consistently aspire to do right by the environment, from our energy policies to our commuter support programs to our very own rooftop bees.
We know the best work happens when we are happy and healthy! In addition to medical and dental coverage, we offer many opportunities for wellness and team building. Take advantage of our on-site gym, drop into our lunchtime fitness classes like kickboxing and yoga, or join basketball, soccer, or volleyball! We also offer generous PTO for full-time employees as well as paid sabbatical leave every seven years of continuous employment.
Invest in your future with us. Start contributing to a 401(k) plan just three months after joining Vernier, and enjoy a generous company contribution once eligible. We also offer additional earnings through our profit sharing program, which compensates employees based on their time with us and our company’s annual success. Paid disability and a company-paid life insurance policy are also included.
Intellectual curiosity is at the heart of our mission, and that extends to our people as well. Vernier provides professional development opportunities, a tuition reimbursement program, a mentorship program, and other opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills.
We love giving back to our community. We support employees with four hours of paid volunteer time per month at a non-profit of their choice. Plus, we’ll match individual charitable contributions from employees up to $1,000 per year.
We’re big on minimizing our impact on the environment. Our LEED-Gold certified building includes a bike room, worm composting, close proximity to the Max Light Rail system, and solar panels on the roof. We also offer a monthly commuter benefit to those using public transportation for work. See all the ways we go green.
Ours is a fun, friendly, and inclusive environment with lots of opportunities to balance work and play. Join a committee, from the Aquarium Maintenance team to the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging committee, take part in raffles for local sports and culture tickets, or join us for our many social activities.
Feel good about joining a team that works in service of helping students and teachers thrive. When teachers call us for support, they connect with our experienced technical support team of former educators, perhaps even our co‑founder Dave Vernier himself. And thanks to our new trust ownership, our mission will never be compromised in the name of profit.
“Since day one at Vernier, I've been surrounded with support. From the mentorship program, to on-the-job training with my team, plus interdepartmental collaboration—there is just an incredible culture of employees who love what they do and who love building one another up.”
“Vernier's commitment to growth is more than a promise—it’s a reality. In the two-plus decades I’ve worked here, so many career opportunities have allowed me to grow, contribute, and chart a meaningful course within the company. Balancing work and life is a priority here.”
“What I love about working here starts with a mission and a product line that I believe in. I used Vernier tools when I was teaching—and now, as a Vernier employee, I get to help teachers use our technology solutions so they can focus on what’s important—student learning. I love that at this time in my career, I am able to help teachers find ways to improve their practice.”
“The work/life balance here is amazing—it allows me to excel in my career while enjoying my family life. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a supportive and positive vibe that makes coming to work easy. The employees and events really add that special touch, making it a fun and inclusive place to work. Also, the free soda is a nice perk, too!”
“I love my job because I have flexibility between my work and family. My manager listens to my concerns and ideas, and always supports them or finds another workable solution as a team. I’ve been able to grow in my career over the years, and I also really love our weekly sports activities like soccer, volleyball, and basketball—it always helps me refresh my ideas!”
“There is a strong sense of community at Vernier. Everyone I work with is supportive and helpful as we work together to serve the educational community. Vernier also encourages community volunteer work by providing volunteer hours and hosting events on site that support local schools and other organizations. It’s great to work somewhere with a purpose.”
