The Centripetal Force Apparatus Moment of Inertia Accessory Kit (CFA-MIK) with the Go Direct® Centripetal Force System (GDX-CFA) relies on the use of a Go Direct® Force and Acceleration Sensor (GDX-FOR) for data collection. Remove the beam from the Go Direct Centripetal Force Apparatus and slide Go Direct Force and Acceleration onto the shaft. Make sure it slides all the way to rest on the spring clip about half way down the shaft.
The thumb screw for Go Direct® Force and Acceleration Sensor (GDX-FOR) can be tightened if needed to ensure the the sensor rotates with the shaft.
When you connect the sensor to your device running Graphical Analysis, Graphical Analysis Pro, or LabQuest App (LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3 only) select the z-axis gyro channel. This will provide angular velocity data to allow you to determine the angular acceleration of the objects being tested.
