If your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch has a lightning connector or a USB C connector, instead of the 30-pin dock connector, then your device has hardware that is compatible with the Vernier LabQuest Stream interface.
LabQuest Stream (LQ-STREAM).
Devices with the much older 30-pin dock connectors cannot be used with LabQuest Stream due to the Apple device having older and incompatible Bluetooth firmware.
When the lightning connector was introduced, Apple also updated their Bluetooth support hardware. LabQuest Stream requires this newer hardware in order to pair with an Apple product. The presence of the lightning connector or USB C connector is a quick way to determine if your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch has the necessary hardware.
If you are unsure which model you have, go to Setting / General / About and find the model number. If you enter the model number into a search engine (e.g., Google), you will find a full description of the generation for the device.
To connect to LabQuest Stream, you will also need the Graphical Analysis GW or Graphical Analysis app (recommended), which is available for free from the App Store.
