Data collected from Vernier sensors is designed so that data are locked and cannot be modified. This is useful in many cases, but makes it tricky to aggregate data from multiple data sets into one. You can use this workaround in order to create columns of data that you can modify as needed.

  1. From your data collection program choose to export the data as a CSV file.
    a. From the File menu, choose Export or Export As.
    b. Select CSV as the export file type.
    c. Name and save the file.
  1. Open (or Import) the CSV file in your data collection app
    • Graphical Analysis
      a. Choose Open from the file menu.
      b. Navigate to the file, and choose Open.
    • Logger Pro
      a. Choose New from the File menu.
      b. Choose Import From â–¶ CSV from the File menu.
      c. Navigate to the file and choose Open.

The data from the CSV file will now be in manual columns in a single data set. Since the data is no longer locked, you can copy and paste cells from one column to another and can delete columns that are no longer needed.

Note: The instructions above assume that all the data are in the same data-collection file. For multiple files, export to CSV and open the files in a spreadsheet program (such as Microsoft Excel). You can copy and paste to create one file, reorganize the data as desired, then open (or import) the master CSV in your data collection program.
