This is expected, though somewhat confusing behavior.
The TI Calculator Data-Only Go Direct USB Cable (expected late August) is specially made to prevent the host calculator from charging the sensor battery. The sensor detects the connection to the host but does not detect charging. As a result, the charge status LED displays as if the sensor is fully charged (green), even when it isn’t.
Be sure your Go Direct Sensor is fully charged before starting an investigation.
Note: Wand-style Go Direct sensors (e.g., Go Direct pH and Go Direct Temperature) have a blue charge indicator LED that is on only while charging. Since the sensor battery does not charge, the charge LED on wand-style sensors is always off when using the Data-Only USB cable.
