Gary Myers
Director of District Outreach
Gary received a BS in Science Education from Oregon State University and a master’s in educational leadership and innovation from Arizona State University. His passion for science education and leadership began as a teenager, when he volunteered to be a junior counselor at Outdoor School. Gary directed education programs at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and the Northwest Outdoor Science School, and, after receiving his Oregon Administrator license, founded an alternative high school for the Beaverton School District. Gary was also the head of a global online school and worked with educators and innovators to introduce American online courses into schools in Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America.
Gary is an active board member for Adventures Without Limits, a nonprofit that provides inclusive adventure programming for youth and adults with disabilities, enjoys spending time with his wife and three adult children, gardening, hiking, traveling, and camping.
